Planets

This page exists simply because I wanted to see the Earth in VR - it was one of the first things I did having got my Oculus Quest.  However, NASA (bless them) have lots of 360 views, so here are a few of them.  At some point I will have a go at Saturn.  I also want to try a simulation of standing on the surface of Mars.

You may be wondering why there is a teapot.  This is a long story, and it's time to tell it.  The ideas behind turning the website completely into VR started with the art club's website.  So my initial analysis was in terms of links that would work for that site.  One of those links was for a gallery of still life paintings and I chose a teapot to represent it.  I got as far as creating a teapot before releasing that I couldn't just wreck the art club's website while I messed around with VR, so I developed it for myself.  The teapot remained.  As I haven't gone in for still life, the teapot got repurposed for this page.  Why?  Well now you can find out.  Go into full VR mode and throw it!!

Please use this page to add comments about this planet simulation, or click on the big image above to go to the site.
